Al Cuor Non si Commanda
Al cuor non si comanda.
From Paolo Rizzi's bold idea to Roman's tenacity.
The Vineyard Chisellator
Paolo Rizzi, with the mighty Brown horse, began to cultivate the rows of Podgora in 1983, inspired by trips to France. He fell in love with Pinot Noir and “bubbles”, noticing similarities between Calvario and Champagne. He waited until his son Roman matured to start again together. In the meantime, he completely renovated the vineyards, which in 2006 produced the first grapes. Combining Ribolla, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, he created the first “classic sparkling wine base”, aged in bottle for two to three years and ready in 2009.
Paolo is known as 'the chiseler of the vines' for his meticulous care of the rows. Together with Roman, it has become a reference point for traditional winemakers. From these vineyards on Monte Calvario, where the evening microclimate is ideal for maintaining scents and aromas, Piè di Mont® is born. The late harvest further enhances the quality of this unique wine.
